William W. Thomsen, M.B.A., CFA, A.S.A., has engaged in business valuation, consulting, and economic analysis for nearly two decades. His consulting experience encompasses the valuation of business interests and intangible assets for litigation, business planning, and estate planning purposes. Areas of expertise include: valuation of business interests; intangible asset (including intellectual property and business goodwill) valuation; lost profit analysis; and economic and financial modeling in connection with complex business disputes.
Mr. Thomsen served as manager at the valuation practices of the public accounting firms Stonefield Josephson, Inc. and Grobstein, Horwath & Company LLP. Prior to that he was associated with American Valuation Group, Inc. and Price Waterhouse, where he was involved with business valuation and litigation consulting.
Mr. Thomsen testifies in the areas of economic and valuation issues. He holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst, as well as that of Accredited Senior Appraiser, American Society of Appraisers, in the field of business valuation. He received his B.A. degree in economics from Pomona College and his M.B.A. with a specialization in finance from the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University.
